Regenerative farming simply means improving the natural farming ecosystem rather than depleting it, which means more resilient crops, more pollinators and clearer waterways. Every harvest makes the land better, not worse.

Unlike traditional farming methods that often deplete soil fertility and rely heavily on chemical inputs, regenerative farming promotes holistic practices driven by nature.

That’s why Wildfarmed ingredients have more character, more flavour and more story. Because when the land is better, the food is better.

Why regen rocks

  • Building soil fertility
  • Helps create a resilient business
  • Reduced input costs
  • Recognition within a traceable supply chain

HOW IT WORKS

Regen is nature working its magic. The more plants and worms and yes, cow poo, the better the soil and less need for chemicals. Increased organic matter also captures more carbon. And improved soil structure leads to better drainage and water retention, meaning less flooding and cleaner rivers. It’s just a win win win.

Limiting Disturbance Both mechanical tiling and chemical inputs
Maintaining year round soil cover Through cover and companion crops
Promoting plant diversity Plant species richness and grazing animals where possible
Keeping living roots in the soil Optimising photosynthesis
Nutrition Based on Need Using plant analysis to determine nutritional impacts

When big change is on the menu, you need a big table.

Working with the team at Wildfarmed right from the inception of Soil Acoustics has been inspiring, even before we met them at Groundswell 23. They have a passion for innovation in this sector that opens the doors to real change for farmers. We share the belief that for lasting impact, those working the land and growing our food need to have the information to change their practices in an economically and scientifically robust way. And of course, selling the idea of funky soil sounds to a musician & DJ was a no-brainer!

Arable farming has evolved its own unique habitat and species associated with it. Chirrup is delighted to confirm Wildfarmed farmers, at different stages in their regenerative journey, hosting important species such as yellowhammers and skylarks, and a range of avian bio-indicators of living soil and other natural assets

NatureMetrics is delighted to partner with the Wildfarmed team. We are fully aligned with Wildfarmed's mission to facilitate nature-positive farming and are proud to support their work in measuring the positive impact of the Wildfarmed approach. Through our eDNA analysis for this program, we have provided the crucial, evidence-based biodiversity data (specifically from an insect perspective) needed to demonstrate the ecological impact of Wildfarmed and, most importantly, the positive contribution of their farm suppliers.

It’s been a pleasure working with Wildfarmed this last couple of years – and working with them and their team of farmers has enabled us to collect some really interesting datasets too

The Future of Farming

Switching to regenerative farming is a direction of travel rather than a simple set of changes. Often a mindset as much as a skillset. That’s why Wildfarmed supports our committed community of growers with an ongoing learning program rather than just a one-off grain contract.
